The fake copper's had 5 months to respond and has chosen not to do so, despite having the time as a busy police officer to post here all day.

For the record:
In Gear is a highly respected serving police officer who gives balanced output to the forums of safespeed.
This not from safespeed but from my knowledge.

Anecdotes don't make evidence, do they? That's what you keep saying!

To be fair, I believe DCB didn't say it did.

However, this isn't the thread for this. Please could we all get back on topic and not feed the ego of the banned poster. Thanks.

Because of the financial situation this country is now in you have to expect "backdoor taxation" on everything!
There's quickly going to be millions more unemployed and this is a "double whammy" to any governments financial plans. They need more cash for benefiots but less & less people working to pay taxes!
The motorist is easy pickings and will probably carry on being so for a lot more years.

Statement of fact.
Demeaning in the eyes of his peers, damaging to reputation LIBEL.
I would suggest that you p.m. In Gear with your outrageous claim then either come back, edit your posts and apologise or better still GO AWAY!!!

I agree.
In Gear is (without any doubt whatsoever) one of the last of the REAL coppers, which unfortunately these days is a dying breed.

Not at all. Hence the smiley which you have so conveniently dropped from your quote

To reply about the survey questions:

I emailed the univ to get the survey question base, several times.
The question base that the survey used is highly relevant, it may well be that the questions are heavily weighted to get the desired answer. A thing very well known in politics surveys.

As for the driving licence: If the cyclist has no licence, then clearly points cannot be added to it BUT...if the cyclist AT A LATER DATE applies for a licence then any points penalty awarded would be added to it from the date the licence started. A driver can now be disqualified for things not connected with driving, such as failing to pay child maintenance.

56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

Could you quote the legislation under which this is possible? Probably the anti-terrorism act which, I understand, also allows you to be detained indefinitely for mistreating a pet gerbil :D (Administrator - that is a joke. At least I hope so)

I think this is a clear case of back door tax. It fails to address the core problem too. If they need to kit out Police stations or appropriate rooms then why not have Councils assist a small additional fund to existing Rape and Abuse Centers? They are already well catered for good rooms to talk. This constant double or triple up of facilities is an enourmous burden to tax payers and they seem to think that we all have money trees !

It is plain wrong to say if you are paying a fine then somehow 'you deserve it' which is the message given out BUT that help them to back up their propaganda condemnation of drivers -neigh period. :(

if they need and want more funding then why not look at the resources they have ! Why NOT have prisoners use their existing workshops to MAKE the furniture and perhaps use those with Community Service orders AND skills eg plumber, to install for free those facilities for those rooms ?
That way they can repay using resources available to them. People are pretty generous in this Country, how about asking the Community too, I am sure some people would happily give time in skills for such needs too. They can all be verified profession to satisfy all Health and Safety and so on ...

The government fails to create a 'team spirit' they seem to see solutions on in fines and targets. This has never proved to teach just punish, and those that cannot afford those fines struggle anyway, and all they gain is distaste from the public.
Hence the worst relationship with the Police and public. The Police sometimes, treat the public like they are targets, to satisfy their bosses all just to please a later Gov statement !

I have split your post off Jomukuk to HERE as I think it deserves to be discussed ... but would get too off topic in here :) A sad tale.
