Waitress, get me another chicken immediately...this one's split

We held at a BBQ a few years ago where one of our comprade's decided to perform an unatural act with a chicken (to completion). When he had finished, he threw the chicken straight back on the pile & mixed it up with all the others.....needless to say, nobody who had witnessed the act wanted chicken that day

That is truely disgusting! Remind me never to invite you to a BBQ!

I agree that throwing it back in the pile was a little bit OTT. But as the saying goes, I'm not my brothers keeper.

Have we got someone else winging about bikers trikling through traffic jams.
If traffic is stopped - so what - if you could fit wheels to the side of your car and slide sideways through a jam to keep moving - would you do it??

Just goes to show how you only read what you want to doesn't it (like most people in this thread)?

My original "complaint" was about travelling through roadworks when it becomes a single lane due to cones I'M STILL MOVING AT 40+MPH NOT CRAWLING ALONG/STOPPED.

Clearly no-one is prepared to read my point properly, instead you all go ahead and assume that I'm trying to stop bikers from passing me (even though I've said there's nothing I can do about it, my car physically takes up too much space and they know it. In this instance it is the bikers that are being the p***** because they automatically assume that they should be able to pass me). I'm not trying to "dictate" who uses the road and how they use it either there is just about enough room for my car - lorries use another wider coned off lane - and bikers that do try and pass always end up being "forced" through the cones because they realise they're pushing it when trying to squeeze by me.

I don't have the strength to try and argue this any more because even if I posted the most simple and logical post of all time you'd still not take the time to read it, or point out some random typo - thanks, way to contribute!

Clearly it's OK for bikers to do whatever they like....... I'm sorry I dared to question otherwise!

Unless I too have misunderstood Mullet, I believe he was querying the safety of bikers always trying to overtake even when it's not safe to do so - i.e. when in roadworks with narrow cones? It is Friday afternoon gents - calm down!

This is true. I've just read the whole thread from start to finish (no I haven't got anything better to do) and Mullet's arguments have been well thought out and courteously put across. Everyone has made some valid points, but some seem to have gone on the defensive very quickly and with no real reason; others have missed the point s/he was making altogether.

Thats a shame because I'm sure you have a lot of valuable things to say.
However, to turn that last part of your statement around (my emboldening) on itself....

Way NOT to open your forum contributions :scratchchin:

When stuck in jams, I am usually the only person to move to the left (or right, depending which lane) to let a biker through easily. And I have never had a nod or wink - feel a bit cheated!

If someone has obviously moved aside to let me past I aknowledge them with a wave of my foot, far safer than taking a hand off the bars in a close quarter filtering situation

We're not all like that! I ALWAYS acknowledge someone moving over, unless I need that particular hand at the time, in which case, I just nod my head. Keep moving over - it IS appreciated!

Seconded! As long as you make it quite obvious that you're moving over deliberately and not just weaving about in your lane.

About time we had an excuse for a ride out. It seems ages since the M4 protest.

hi guys
have read the post from start ,i have to say that most of my driving is based in central london. the motor cycle riders that i encounter on a daily basis are very skilled and polite . i move over when i can and its safe to do so . also too the lanes are very narrow at blackfriars going to tower hill on the embankment i have never had a rider rev or hide in blackspot and also the proliferation of dispatch riders is extreemly high.my problem really is the vespa type bikes because of the congestion charge riders are whizzing round on these damn things (not all ) but enough in my opinion that are a menace trough lack of training and having to be there quicker than any one else.
paul if i have gone off topic apologies
goldy :)

Deal me in.

Any excuse for a ride.

Any other choice of venues?

Coalville has a good biker pub but since it is only 15 miles from me I want to go a bit further away.

Isn't is time Bikers (as in the powered kind) had there own forum?

Have read the post from start to finish, have understood your arguement but in all my years driving (28) have never encountered the situation you speak of. I am a both a biker and a 'cager'. When on my bike I always make good progress, but never harry or hurry other drivers, I accept situations where I cannot pass (Though they are few  ) with patience. I always acknowledge other drivers who move over. When in my car, I make every effort to let bikes past (Without making daft manouvers as some do. ) "No I'm not overtakign you, there's a junction ahead, I don't care if you are taking out the grass verge trying to make room for me!" And don't be offended if nobody agrees with you, it might indicate that the situation you described is isolated.
