This was given to my kids at the South East Bike show yesterday by the propaganda arm of the Kent Scamera partnership. They were there to convince us all that they are there for our safety (actually I think the footsoldier really believes this).

The money box was one of the gift items in the bag of goodies. I almost pissed my selfd when I saw it, and I can't work out if they have a tremendous sense of humour or are as thick as pig sh*t

Either way they are being remarkably insensitive to public opinion. Even the twisted official surveys suggest that around 70% of people think speed cameras are there to raise money.

Maybe it's a saving scheme, sort of like TV licence stamps - you put 50p in it every time you go out of the door, so that with luck you'll have £60 saved up by the time they zap you!

I'm not sure whose permission you're requesting, but you certainly don't need my permission to do that.

Everyone should feel free to quote Safe Speed content, although if the quotes are substantial a credit would be appreciated. There's a standing copyright permission on the front page of the Safe Speed web site.

The Cumbria "Safety" Camera Partnership operate a forum like this one, and the standard of debate is very vigorous. I don't post there myself but it makes for very interesting reading!
