Hi all,

Lucky I was paying good attention the other day as a female driver edged her car nose out to see past parked traffic and there I was coming towards her, unfortunately she must have looked my way (traffic flow closest to her side) and seen it to be clear then looked the other way (the way you usually can see further) then pulled straight out with gusto. I managed to swerve without delay as I was watching her starting to edge out and looking the other way so was on alert, if I was any earlier it might have been less avoidable but I think she seen the error of her ways when should looked round and seen a car about a foot from her front.

I remember being taught to double check the oncoming traffic flow before pulling out-she didn't.

Next near miss was a white van tailgating in the rain. I was crawling up to a set of lights at roadworks and decided to stop before a junction to let cars in and out, checked the mirror-braked and decided that he had just panic braked even tho was only doing 15MPH, result..the usual skid up to the rear then continued to tailgate even worse after the incident  DUH you thick wanker. "Oh i've got all this stuff on my mind and I really need to get home fast, perhaps sitting even closer will get me there quicker"

Regards

Andrew

P.S. FAO Paul. I sent you an email yesterday regarding correspondance I had with a local Councillor about his remarks that the area needs more cameras. I didn't want to discuss it on here hence the reason I sent to you. If you have the time to look let me know what you think of this idiot's responses.

Yeah. Thanks. I've got it. It isn't (perhaps) as bad as you think because a) he's giving 'standard answers' and b) you have him on the defensive. I'm still wondering about what I can do to help.

Ahhhhhh, but both of those incidents were nobody's fault because both drivers probably obey the speed limit 100% of the time therefore must be the safest drivers on the road!

Mean't to say any later...DUH!

Paul,

I don't know if I will hear back from the Councillor, if I don't I will try and take it further like complain to the head of the Council traffic management or the local MP, even if he does get back to me with an automated reply I would wish to complain about it. Will keep you posted by email if I get any response.

Regards

Andrew
