There are loads more (usually with a link to the same website). Obviously an attempt to circumvent global spam filters, but people have actually responded to some of these

Many of you will have missed the spam post earlier today, in which the author professed to be afflicted by anxiety.
Apparently he/she was from Sweden, so I suggested a little retail therapy in IKEA - before Steve nuked it!

I have suggested that some of these posts are amusing, and we should be allowed some time to play with them!

Those Nigerian emails always amuse me - especially when they send multiple mails to my accounts, thus debunking the illusion they are trying to create, that they contacted me specifically!

It's when you get the Far East manuals that are for real that have me often in stitches ! :) Mind my Far East language skills are non existent !

English is a hard language to learn. From what I have understood from a language expert that the culture and make up of a language can help the social and cultural skills and social behaviours.
Which can lead to certain Country skills as language methods lead to better comprehension of certain skills and development.

Even if someone doesn't speak very good English you should be able to tell what they are saying. Those posts were just total nonsense. I can't understand why someone would commit themselves to spamming forums all day, what do they get out of it?

I'm getting a lot of "Phishing" emails, purportedly from banks at the mo*. They would have a chance of success if it wasn't for such errors as claiming to be from Lloyds TSD, and my personal favourite: an email concluding "Beast Wishes"...

* Johnny's serious moment: your bank will never send you an email with a clickable link in it, and never ask you to enter your details into an online form.
A good way of proving the link is fake is to right click on it and click properties. Invariably the web address (despite the link saying "www.natwest.co.uk/login" or whatever) will be something completely unrelated to the bank invloved, like http:/www.dogydomainski.ru/natwest.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't deliberately make that last address a clickable link, but the forum software keeps doing it for me!

Johhny, I forced your link to be non-clickable.

Look for a whole heap of escape characters too. A few %20 is ok, but I believe something like
http:/www.barclays.co.uk/home/%4%79n%767%30%70y%03%83%4%96d%05%20%53%22%99s%903%233%123m could end up taking the clicker to a site other than Barclays.

My favourite at the moment is the one purporting to be from the FBI investigating a fraud. :)

Oh, apart from the ones from Russian ladies who are keen to meet me...

Thought that was a literal translation from Gaelic ( as in e.g ."I have a pen" which translates as "the pen is at me ")

And if I had actually WON - ALL the money the various people keep telling me about I would have millions couple this with all the vast sums I am meant to be inheriting from Abroad 'deals' I would by now have amassed billions !
Now for that kind of money I could run my only Safe Speed surveys, call centres and promote good road safety and buy many advertising slots too by producing some excellent proper and intelligent Road Safety Public Info Films !

It is a Portuguese English dictionary compiled by a no English speaker using an English French and a French Portuguese dictionary. But the result is similar.

Perhaps we need a compendium of foreign stuff - so that when we feel down ,we've got somat to laff at .Having done several courses at a UK branch of a major Japanese telecoms company , I know how to translate their attempts at English into colloquial language from their handbook ,and indeed can master any of their product handbooks -be it telecoms/video/TV/audio etc - so perhaps the courses did work :D

If you like the Nigerian scams, go to 419eater.com where the members there actually engage the scammers, often trolling, sometimes actually persuading the scammers to pose for embarrasing photos to prove their ID and in some cases scamming them back.

One thread a while ago, scammer wanting to buy some goods from the US was persuaded to send a pre-paid shipping label, and received a broken oven that they had to pay freight on, yet were convinced to do this a further 10 times before they gave up.

I'm hoping my blacklisting of their IP range (from .cn domain) will now stop them.

Below is another I don't get. I've moved it into here and the user has been disabled.

Why do exactly the same thing in so many different forums? Is this to check for some sort of defensive weakness?
