Can't have been written by anyone who knows anything though - damned fool even suggests that "most motorists" are against speed cameras! How can that be?! Has he never seen a CSCP survey?!

Just thought I'd pop by to see what goes on round these parts since whenever I post anything about speeding on my blog I get several visits from here (thanks BTW)

Mole,
it's a bit harsh to say I don't know anything, really, I know lots of things, honest I do. If you have time on a cold winter's evening I'd be happy to regail you with some of the stuff I know.

I've been called lots of things in my time & "damned fool" is probably one of them. The entries on my blog are not the results of months & months of detailed scientific research backed up by peer review & publication in lofty, rspected journals; they are my opinions, no more, no less.

I don't want to get into a peeing contest on who knows the most, after all, you might be the person who invented the speed camera & have spent years collating detailed figures & stats to back up whatever approach you take & who am I to gainsay that? My humble opinions happen to be based on, among other things, 30 years of policing, of traffic law enforcement & education & a 'professional' interest in the subject together with my own experiences, apocryphal stories & my personal prejudices around the subject & beyond.

To answer your question, since I don't know what a CSPC survey is I can be pretty sure I've never seen one. Would you care to point me in the direction of one, I'd be very interested to read it (provided it's relevant to the subject in hand). I would, however, at this early stage suggest that whatever it says I suspect there is probably another survey which says completely the opposite of whatever its findings were.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Ah the joys of the internet, a post just can't convey sarcasm like a change in tone of voice, or a cheeky grin ( :) )

Mole's comment was totally tounge in cheek, the surveys by the safety camera partnerships are so worded that any one anti camera throws it in the bin before thier blood boils. The only people who fill them in must be the wi mums who call for a speed camera and then all receive tickets

I like your blog. Too much internet and not enough time.
Anton
:welcome: by the way

Questions and results here
how many of these leading questions could you answer before your blood boils? If you calmly get to question 7 and post the survey back you are ready to join the WI.

Note the negitive answers have weak colours and positive answers have bold primary colours.

Sorry, been away for a couple of days and also sorry to 200 Weeks! As has been said, it was complete sarcasm and not intended in any way to have a go at you! To be honest, they were interesting statistics that you posted up - confirming what I think most people on here always felt to be the case, i.e. that so many forces were now heavily dependent on scamera revenue for a significant part of their annual budgets.

I think others have already answered all your questions. CSCP is the Cumbria Safety Camera Partnership - my own corner of the world. They used to have a forum when they first started in which, to their credit it has to be said, they did try to engage with the public. Members of the partnership itself would go online and try to defend their views to anyone who might wish to debate them. As time went by, however, things got increasingly acrimonious on there and eventually they closed the forum. Not before, however, they had on many occasions, told us that the vast majority of the public were overwhelmingly in favour of cameras and it was just us few "anarchists" who weren't!

Once again, sorry it it caused offence - I can assure you that wasn't the intention! (well, not to you anyway)

Mole,

no probelm, thanks for the explanation. You can see by my reply that I took it reasonably light-hearted anyway.

Thanks for the info on the CSCP.
