Off the ABD site, check-your-co"-online (1997-onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn)

http://www.smmtco2.co.uk/co2search2.asp

Mine is 145 g/km .... diesel van.

Interestingly, most new[er] diesels have higher emissions.....
Mine runs a biodiesel mix (33%) and smoke emission is at least 25% lower than for pump diesel...

56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

Very useful site.

Perhaps we should have a competition to find the most bog-standard car possible with CO2 above 225 g/km.

Not really surprising though.

Many newer models are larger and heavier than their earlier equivilant (safety features?) Parked side-by-side a late model Golf is pretty much the same size as my old Range Rover! :o

Modern "Harmfull" emission reduction technologies actually reduce engine efficiency (EGR etc)

for comparison, Montego 2.0 Turbo diesel was good for nearly 60MPG on a good day without a computer in sight (I believe some even managed to get 100 under test track conditions) and the performance wasnt too bad either.

It is a mistake to think that all this techicrap has actually made things better!

It was only about the same weight as today's Vauxhall Corsa though
