There is a row with the unions at Grangemouth oil refinery. The unions arn't happy that the final salary pension is being finished when there is plenty of money for it. The staff are going on strike. It's a big plant and can't just be switched off. So they are closing it down for safety reasons for the duration of the strike. It supplies fuel for Scotland and the north of England.

Refineries do get shut or maintainance routinely and there is a bit of posturing in the media between the 2 parties. Panic buy now!

...............an' don't believe a word you hear because (it seems) a PR company called Zoo Media is working for INEOS and if you don't know, PR companies are responsible for placing 50% of the headlines in newpapers and the media......giving their spin of course to: "the gullable masses"!.......in favour of those that pay them the money.

That's why they pay them so much!.............(and it's also why I refuse to buy their mind bending Daily Rags!).....

Notice how they're now using the closure as an excuse to justify petrol price rises The government want them to strike, it's all more revenue and the government don't get the blame. New tactics I'd say.

Diesel leapt from 1.15 a litre this weekend to 1.18, the ques staurday had almost brough the car park to a stand still.

Have worked out that communting to work is costing me nearly £60 quid a week!

Unless I'm listening to news about a different Scotland, a guy on this morning's news said that just 5 petrol stations had to close - out of 1000!

I think that zoo media's carefully prepared plan is going just fine.......They're getting the exposure for their line, the unions, predictably...are not. But why start this row in the first place? I believe that this "pension thing" was just the match that INEOS used to light the fire......

There's more to this story yet to come I think......and of the man who owns this refinery at Grangemouth as just a plaything....

One things is for certain.........he plans to blame the unions for it's closure..

No queues here. Price 119p for diesel. Any queues in the south seem to be caused by localised panic buying.

In this town diesel is 121.9, cheapest. And 123.9, dearest.
It has risen by 2p/litre in a day.
Obviously, the fuel companies are not making enough cash.
Oh well, not to worry. The GBP will pay through the nose as usual.
Maybe we can organise a "use pubic transport instead of cars" day just to show the westminster dummies how crap it really is ?
But then, since 60% of fuel sold every day is work related.....
