Do you regularly think of men on their first night in prison?

It makes me smile when I think how those petrol-bomb cry-babies fare on their first night in prison!

They fare the same as everybody else....they switch the colour TV on (complete with Freeview), fire up the Playstation, and sit there only occasionally moving to get up and switch the kettle on.

You mean they don't have waiters in jail to bring them tea? Get me the Howard League!

Gofer's are in plentiful supply in pretty much every jail worldwide.

You've been watching too many Porridge repeats! Don't forget, these blokes
aren't hard criminals - I have some respect for those because there is some
chance of gain in what they do, whereas these boneheads just loose their
jobs and wreck their lives for absolutely nothing. Here's a slightly less
optimistic view:

These aren't men, in the normal sense of the word. They are sneaky, overwrought, stupid bastards.

Not read through the thread.

I should tut and  over vandalism.

But I cannot.

Because I think this vandalism has less to do with mindless yobbiness . but more to do with blipper anger or an acute feeling that the devices are serving no other purpose than raising revenue under a pretext of "safety" when we all know safety is about more than a blip over the lolly on an empty road.

And this is why the cams get hammered in reality. If they served and were perceived to deliver safety . then I think less violence would be shown towards them.

I do not drive or ride illegally. I use COAST as do all of my family and my wife's family. However, we can understand how and why this phenomema of vandalism occurs and its anger-based at a flawed system of road safety

As such - we view this not as wanton vandalism but as a form of perhaps misguided protest.

To the lurks.. note the wording. I am not condoning. but trying to understand the WHY this occurs.

I don't think so, my father in law finished serving a 5 stretch last August...he had everything I mentioned above & more within 3 months of starting his sentence.

He did find Winchester a bit of a dump, but he was only there for 8 weeks before being allocated to Guy's Marsh and then doing the last 18 months of his sentence at Ford where he was out every day and parked his car in the prison car park at night (yes, that really is true).

If that's not easy, then I don't know what is.

Two things to say about this. First, who would believe a crook? And
second, blokes are known for never mentioning their humiliations – it
wrecks their self image to admit they are loosers, you see. Strange as it
seems, Gixxer, but the fellows would rather boast about how easy it is
because they imagine it makes them look tougher! It’s that type of
thinking that puts them away in the first place, though.

On the other hand, I’d prefer to give them physically unpleasant
punishments (you know, cat o’ nine tails and such like). But I’m the type
who watches Ben Hur over and over again!!!

Yeah, we should be sorry for the petrol-bomb cry-babies, they had a rough childhood etc. But we don't do "political correctness" around here.

It was me that handed over the Xbox and the colour TV on my first visit to him, and it was also me that took him to Chichester to buy the car he used every day when being let out to do his "community" work... so I know exactly what creature comforts he had in jail.

If you still don't believe how easy life is inside thanks to the bleeding heart liberals, then take a trip down to Ford any day of the week you like and ask all the cons you are guaranteed to find walking all about the place what they think of life inside.

Ford is category D, an open prison.
Emphasis on re-settlement and preparation for release for those who have done time in cat C prisons.
First time inmates rarely get cat D prison.
Note that punishment is removal of liberty, not torture.

Yes, perhaps it would be more fitting to give the petrol bombers a 10 year driving ban once they get out. I'll mention it to my MP - maybe we can have them classified as terrorists!
