This year I seem to have been unfortunate in getting the 'flu over Christmas and now I am just recovering from the Norovirus (very unpleasant!).

Obviously, when you can't leave the bathroom, you can't drive but as I was recovering from both illnesses I started back in the car but I felt that maybe I wasn't as sharp as usual. Maybe this is akin to drink driving at low levels.

Does anyone else feel that not driving until you have fully recovered from illnesses such as these should be recommended along with the paracetamol, fluids and bedrest?

I think you are probably right.

In theory, yes, but in practice many people's employers wouldn't agree.

And those of us who are contractors get no sick pay anyway, so we might not be able to afford it.

Ah... but would returning to work whilst under par affect productivity or cause more illness resulting in longer time off work... or infect others with the Norovirus and thus lead to further staffing problems :scratchchin:

Admit it's a tough choice for those who are self employed/freelance/contractors .,.but perhaps there is some admin office work to do at home instead?

It can and does affect driving and we really do have to judge how "under par" we really feel when deciding to set off for work.
