On the advice from
this page, I bought
Mind Driving.
I am so glad I read this book. I enjoy[ed] being humbled in the context of imminent personal growth.
Even if I were to say that I know everything in this book - I don't - the fact remains that Stephen Haley figured out how to say it so that it would stand up to - and topple - pseudo-skepticism and anti-intellectual dogma posing as reason.
I wonder if any other Americans have read this book. I know that no American treatise on the subject is anywhere near as honest about the paramount importance of drivers' abilities and decisions to road safety.
Oh, I almost forgot ...
For my money, one of the few books I've read that deserves to be on the same shelf as
Mind Driving, is Bob Bondurant's
Police and Pursuit Driving. Although not necessarily written for the general public, that is perhaps among its greatest strengths as a tool for widening a driver's understanding.
I ask that you praise and/or recommend any book that you feel is worth more than the cover price, if you know what I mean.
