Hi,

Does anyone know if mobile speed cameras flash. I think i may have been caught on the M6 (nthbound nr manchester) the other night, it was a very dark stretch of road and my speed had creeped up as nothing was infront of me. There were a few cars behind but i cant tell if it was a car flashing or police on a bridge with a camera..

Does anyone have any info to set my mind at ease?

Cheers,

Fraser

The type of cameras used for >99% if mobile enforcement do not flash. However, you can't rule out the use of a minigatso given the fact you saw what seemed like a flash from behind.

It's not impossible that a minigatso was deployed. They're little things used on tripods at the side of the carraigeway. I've never heard of a minigatso being used from a bridge over the carriageway.

You'll know in 14 days (assuming you are properly registered as the keeper of the vehicle).
