Yes, and just as I was responding to it.

You have a dilemma here relating to operating Politically Correct censorship of posts in case they offend anyone or allowing them and risking violent responses.

The post was IMO offensive but tells you about the poster's view of Mr Brunstrom and a little about the poster themselves. Cooperman's response was interesting as he seems to think that it's OK to wish this fate on people he considers "evil" but wants to limit the ability of others to wish the same on people they put in the same category.

Questions of taste and decency are a minefield but I don't think we have a big problem with them on here. A PM to the potentially offensive poster should be enough.

Did he compare him to Mohammed? I'm a little concerned that you have censored a thread. If the post was inciting violence then I would accept that but without having seen it how can I tell whether it was offensive?

If you have received a large number of complaints then I would expect the offending post to be removed but the whole thread?

IMHO it was a personal view that could be offensive.

I wouldn't have suspended the thread in a private forum but certainly would have in public forums.

I support the decision.
