i have decided to embark upon a project to highlight this problem. i would appreciate any incidents being reported to me and to your local police station regardless of whether damage or injury was sustained.
for the full story on how this one began, follow the link

the first step i am taking is gathering these cases together so i can present them to the Inspector who responded to my email. incidents may be rare in his area which explains why he is not informed of the severity or frequency of these attacks on a national level. it does not change the potential consequences of these actions though which is why i would like this man to be the one who does take it on board and hopefully do something about it through his contacts. so far i have a national magazine editor backing me so i have access and permission to use his articles but many incidents go unreported. i want as many as possible to use in a presentation. obviously i dont expect the man to read them all but it will make my point very valid before i then pass over the more tragic cases to stress the consequential side of this modern day threat that ALL motorists face

UPDATE
i have a decent file now and i have requested the opportunity to present it to him. he is away this week though so i wont get a response until next week.
if this does go forward, i will still be after further articles and incidents of this nature so dont be shy. more importantly, REPORT THEM. i think this is largely believed to be rare because only the people who are actually injured or have vehicles damaged are involving the police. to that end, tell them of any incident to allow them to build a more accurate picture of this type of crime
