Is it true that speed humps should not be installed on A roads?

They should not be installed at all. :x

I don't see anything in here about it... The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999.

I thought they weren't allowed on primary roads, but I'm not sure where I saw that. Maybe in the older regs.

Note that they aren't allowed anywhere near a railway or a bridge due to the structural damage they cause. But they're ok outside your house.
