Safe Speed Forums

I know of a site in the town where I live that I have seen speed vans parked using their equipment and upon reading some of the posts on the forums I get the impression that there should be some kind of sign saying "speed camera" or emblem and there definitely isn't any type of forwarning sign.
Could this be correct and how do the people who get a ticket along this stretch go on.
I dont know any of them but if I did hear of anyone should I advise them that it might not be enforcable?

Hey Pat.

The previous arrangement was to enable netting off (cost recovery) only if the SCPs/operators followed these rules (for most sites). Their not abiding by these rules do not provide any mitigation of, or defence for, an alleged offence committed under current UK law.


This arrangement has now ended:

There will be a revised funding arrangement that integrates the funding of cameras into the wider road safety arena from 2007/08. This means that the netting off arrangement will cease at the end of March 2007.

AFAIK the rulebook has been thrown out of the window!
