George, it's also easy to remember how many PEOPLEwere killed on the railroads as on the real roads per passenger mile:

The same number.

Despite the rail roads being fenced off.

Feel free to work out for yourself the comparison with motorways, which are far safer than your average road (but not fenced off in the same way as the rail roads).

Or how many car passengers would be killed if cars were built like 100 ton battering rams.


PS Can anyone shed any light on why moderators only stick their oar in when I defend motorists in general and myself in particular from anti-motorist attacks?

I have to say that I had been thinking "what does all this have to do with this site?" when Paul requested that George and Bogush keep their posts on topic. I think he's being pretty reasonable.

IMO, both posters need to keep their posts relevant to the topic being discussed. Wandering off into personal insults or arguments about other sites is pretty pointless, as is resurrecting old arguments from other fora.

Not if you take out the suicides from BOTH sets and then re-distribute the rail deaths caused by road vehicles into the road statistics.

Wish you'd sober up and attempt to 'Clear my memory' too !
