My thoughts are they are keeping the space warm for the time when they get a brain........

I alos don't understand the wearers of coats and scarves in cars (often young women).

When it's that old, I've sat and warmed my car up to the extent that the screen is demisted before driving anywhere, so a coat is unnecessary.

They're probably the same people who drive along wiping a little porthole in the condensation on the screen.
