I saw this and immediately thought of RobinXe!!
Any action like this on YOUR base?

Quote:
Air force demotes Playboy poser
Image
A US Air Force sergeant who posed nude for Playboy magazine has been removed from active duty and demoted.

The move reverts Michelle Manhart to air national guard status, a move which has prompted her resignation, she says.

"I'm disappointed in our system. They went too far with it," she told the Associated Press news agency.

Ms Manhart appeared in the Playboy's February edition in a range of poses, some in uniform and striking a military pose, others while naked.

Ms Manhart had been a member of the Iowa air national guard before going on extended active duty with the air force.

In January, Ms Manhart was suspended from duties while an investigation into the incident was carried out.

At the time the air force released a statement saying that her actions did not "meet the high standards we expect of our airmen".

However, Ms Manhart defended her decision to pose for the magazine, pointing out that she had served her country since 1994.

I have to say recruitment would improve, so I dont see why she had to go!

No comparable action at my current unit mate, but she's not a patch on the pretty RAF police Cpl I had the pleasure of entertaining at my last posting!

I would guess that the crux of their objection focuses on the fact that she posed in uniform. It may seem trivial to civilians, but disrespecting the uniform that many are proud to fight and die in for the titillation of the masses is not particularly tasteful, no matter how appealing the form wrapped inside!

Mate, did you even bother to read the quote in Ernest's post?!?

She's US forces, so no HMG anything, and some of her poses were in uniform, which is what I imagine caused her the grief.

I have not seen the mag. but I suspect it was not regular army issue uniform, as the media are sensitive to that sort of thing.

Not too long ago, there was a fuss about somebody using a US flag in an advert, which backfired on the product in question!

I still think it was a lost opportunity!!

IIRC an ex WRAC officer posed for Mayfair magazine back in the 70's. I remember swapping a copy of the mag for a Russian fur hat while driving up to Berlin. She wasn't serving at the time but had pictures taken in uniform.

She wasn't bad either.

Army slang ( in CASE YOU DIDN'YT GET IT )FOR A CHEF/COOK , SOMEONE MORE QUALIFIED, (ACCORDING TO MY SOURCES ) to talk about food, than an ex pilot officer with a thing about windbags.

Forgive me, am I the one you refer to as an 'ex pilot officer'?

Is that turn of phrase intended to be derogatory, because I feel like taking it as such!

Oops - I thought I had edited in a link there to some more explicit pics (explicit in terms of military service!)
http://theports.net/temp/pb1.jpg
Take a look at the weaponary - no wonder the bosses were not best pleased.
In one pic. you can see her dog tags (no honestly!! :o ).

All the legit ones I have seen, had a black rubber tyre around the edge!
