Hi,

I was prosecuted for doing 99mph going northbound on the A449 in Wales by a mobile speed camera. The road was empty and the visibility was good.
I thought that by law, the cameravan had to be visible to the driver.
This one was not visible. And had it have been visible, I would have driven at 68mph. There were signs for cameras, just that the camera was nowhere to be seen.
Has anyone else been caught by this camera, and would I/we have a case to have the charges dropped?

Thanks,

Murray.

Welcome to Wales! That'll be £60 and 3 points then.

Basically no, they don't.

Maybe you'd like to remind them that being visible is the only way they'll help people slow down...
Unless of course they just want your money... Hmm...

If I had a NIP I'd be looking at PePiPoo's NIP Wizard. :)

(However they haven't caught me yet. Although I do think they are trying harder now...)

Why are you complaining about being caught when you deliberately exceeded the speed limit by (presumably) 29 or 39mph having stated you saw the camera signs?!

What was wrong with doing 60/70mph in the first place? Shoddy driving.

Doing that speed in Wales is really playing russian roulette, did you plead Guilty or were you found Guilty after a Trial? did you have a solicitor? did/have you appealled?
What do you want to achieve?.
