I recall there used to be a link to a site that describes all the types of cameras on our roads - can anyone recall what it was? Perhaps might be worthy of a sticky in this forum?

Last night going home I saw a police van with 2 cameras in the back windows, I'm fairly certain it was ANPR as the windows were closed and the cameras were on "garfield" type suckers attached to the glass, but a colleague of mine had been through earlier (and unlike me, when he went through the road was a bit clearer and he thinks he may have been slightly over the limit by a few mph or so) and he wants some clarification of my suspicion. Can anyone advise?

TIA
Andy

Saw a strange looking device this morning - 0.5 miles from the end of the 60 section of the A580 East Lancs Road, a police estate parked in a layby, with a set of blue lights on a roof bar, above the lights was a pair of oblong boxes looking a bit like a cheap CCTV camera case without an obvious lens on the front, just a black hole.

Didn't see anyone further along waiting to stop people, it may not have even been a speed camera but I thought ANPR generally had a chase team waiting a mile or so later?

Anyone any ideas?

Warks police have a Focus estate with a single item about 6 inch diam with a coloured lens mounted on the roofbars - points out at an angle - seems to pop up in various parts from time to time - suspect ANPR as the large Vauxhall Movano style thing seems to have disapeared. That used to have (or appear to have ) most of Warks traffic branch in attendance --almost like a Trafpols day out.
