This poll is for those that have had a camera speeding ticket in the last three years only. If you have had more than one ticket, please answer for the most-distant-from-home ticket only.

I need answers urgently.

If you were caught while on holiday and don't mind talking to press or media, please send me an email or PM.

If you use other boards, mailing lists or groups, please spread the word on this poll. I need as many replies as I can get in the next 48 hours.

This poll expires on 7th July 2006.

Voting in the poll requires forum registration. Click the 'register' link above if you aren't registered and you wish to vote. It's free, and shouldn't take more than about a minute.

coming back from holiday in Scotland. M74 Beattock Summit. no junctions, just a white van stuck on some poxy little farmers bridge on the middle of the moor, on a bright summers day. Fleece the English on their way home!

Wow, lots of responses.

Not been caught myself (being totally law abiding of course  )

But people I know have mostly been zapped in their local area (by mobile units) although that probably reflects the fact that a vast majority of driving is done in a persons local area.

On holiday in North Wales last year, 36 in a 30 . I was caught from behind and I never saw the van, however a friend who was travelling in front says saw a plain white van which only appeared to be a trap once he looked in his mirrors :x . Needless to say the wonderful people at Arrive Alive denied using an unmarked vehicle

On holiday in South Wales doing 85mph on a 70mph section of A449 south of Ross-on-Wye heading southbound.

Scamera van parked on the inside edge of a flyover partially hidden by trees. Sunny day, dry road, zero traffic in sight.

I'll happily talk to the media - will PM later

Just registered and voted on behalf of my missus. She was done on a 2-lane dual carriageway with no footpaths which has an insane 30mph limit. 38mph was her heinous crime. Stupid really, she knows the scamera is there.

Edited to add - directed here via the request for info on PistonHeads.

I was caught in what was at the time my local area. 62 in a 50 on the A47 by a van sitting on a bend where the road changes from a duel to a single carriageway. I seen the van, slowed down but it was to late.

I tried the unsigned loophole but to no use. Did evade it by 6 mouths thought (The points where dated on my licence from the date on the offence).

AI northbound, Tempsford Bedfordshire 23rd December 2005. 50 in a temporary 40 limit despite the fact that the road works were at least a mile beyond the start of the restriction and the scamera van was parked just within the limit to catch anyone (like me) who was slowing but had yet to get down to 40 mph.

Used the PACE defence and am attending Bedford Mags on 13th of this month for the first adjourned hearing (for witness availability) on a charge of failing to supply (despite having supplied twice.....).

I've never been caught speeding before, the only time I could imagine it happening is in an unfamilliar area; where the tallivan sites were unknown and they were enforcing an inappropriately speed limited section of road that used to be NSL but now 30.

I was caught by a mobile van in my local police area alledgedly doing 40mph in a 30 mph zone. I dispute the speed and am convinced it was the car immediately behind me that was speeding, but the video camera would only have been able to take my number plate because I was obscuring the following car.
