Following friendly and positive discussions with Wiltshire Police it has been agreed:

* The protest traffic will run in L1 and L2 only
* The target speed of the protest traffic is 56mph
* Each protest vehicle will receive safety instructions
* The risk of service station car parking overflowing is being considered

The aim is for high publicity and low disruption.

I hope you, and they, know what you're doing, a rolling roadblock at 56mph in lanes 1 & 2, and speed cameras on the overbridges making sure no-one exceeds about 75mph in lane three looks potentially like a recipe for disaster to me. A rolling roadblock in all three lanes would be safer.

I'm pretty sure there won't be any speed cameras - makes for a bad publicity photo.

Who's doing the considering. Although it would be great to have loads of supporters/participation from like-minded motorists. How much disruption do you envisage there being? I'm not overly familiar with the size of the carparks at the service station(s), or if they have overflow car parks too. It would probably be best to meet up in the latter if available?

L1 and L2 only sounds good to me. L3 as well would cause too much of a problem for emergency vehicles I'd say.
