It seems that pensioner power via the e ballot has prevailed on HMG to re debate this new tax .

Here's why -
However, the allowance for the 65s and over will not increase at all from the current £10,500 (£10,660 for the 75s and over). Those currently approaching 65 will be left with the same allowance as when they were in work and enjoying a much higher income.
Add this to the rising cost of fuel and the decline of the winter heating allowance and lower private pensions due to bank problems and pensioners are getting rebelious . Me -I've been doing battle with HMRC over the constant changes to my tax codes on four small pensions ,and HMRC idea of calculating the annual value .
