A 28-year-old motorcyclist has died after a crash involving a van on a road in the far north of Scotland.
The accident happened on the A99 Latheron to Wick road about a mile south of Thrumster in Caithness on Saturday afternoon.
Brent Larnach, from Lybster, was killed and the driver of the van is being treated for serious injuries.
The road was closed for six hours for crash investigations to take place. Police have appealed for witnesses.
My sympathies go out to the families and friends of all involved.
I know that there has been a lot of rain in this region, I wonder if that played a part ?
The A99 used to be the original A9 but they changed them !
