Jeremy Clarkson had an entertaining go at CSCP in his Sun column today, mentioning how high the KSI's are and comparing it to a county that doesn't run a partnership yet has stats below the national average

Yep I know the sign and it looks pretty reasonable to me, you can't access the school via that lane by vehicle as it's gated shut at the top, I expect it's the school that has requested the council put the sign up so visitors don't drive up the lane to the school as lots of kids use it to the 4 main...

This week it's been a pleasure the driving alot the M55 during rushhour between junction 1 - 3, it's a 50mph limit whilst the motorway is down to 2 lanes for roadworks. Drivers have been slowing gradually to 50mph before the limit comes in and stay at 50 right to the end of the road works. Reason: l...

Twice driving along Kirkland I've been passed by an on coming car (english plates) going the wrong way down the oneway street, each time I've been amazed they've not caused a crash before releaf at me taking the right hand lane. Couple of times I've been waiting at Maude Street to see a car dart fro...

Now there's a question. If you are going to turn into Maude Street from Sandes Avenue, how do you indicate that you are NOT turning left into Stricklandgate, and NOT continuing RIGHT towards Windermere? I did not indicate in the normal manner, but the cars behind, failed to anticipate my two flashe...

Surprise surprise after over 8 months I saw a CSCP van in Kendal, and after dark as well.

But for some reason they were more interested in flashing cars doing 30-35mph in a 40mph zone - blimey those flashes are bright, can see an accident being caused in the future!!

One thing thats got me is if they know x number of drivers were speeding then why can't they identify them. I don't believe they can confirm these cars were speeding as they can't be identifed between two points.

There are alot of blue mondeos on the road!

On Bay radio tonight they said CSCP made £10,200 (if everyone pays their fines) in the first 4 days of the Barrow digital camera being turned on.

If that was to carry on they would make £928,200 a year from one location

Between 22/07/05 and today 01/10/05 I have still failed to see the CSCP in action, during that period I have covered 11543 miles (safely JJ) EFC I've not seen one most of this year and I pass 6 locations twice daily, but then again they have to get up early to catch me. Usual CSCP propaganda on Bor...

Must admit I thought you would have all got to grips with this one since we have debating safety cameras for the last 2 years ( I was been polite using debate) under the rules of the safety cameras we are alowed to enforce for 15% of the total time spent at core sites at other locations. for instan...

A CSCP Ad in todays Westmorland Gazette states there were 40 serious injuries in February but looking on there website they state 43 !!

Has anyone got the long/lat references to some/all the CSCP sites, I'm playing about with google maps and putting together a demo of what you can do with gmaps.

Any other reference (GPS, OS etc...) will be ok, I should be able to convert to long/lat

Interesting report in todays Sunday Times drive section (http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,12389-1611007,00.html) --Now the odds are loaded against you-- The number of speed cameras with film in them has quietly been increased, reports Emma Smith of The Sunday Times Thousands more motorist...

BBC Radio Cumbria did a piece on the fixed cameras, mentioned that they are not turned on yet. The CSCP guy quoted the 69% reduction again with no clue as to what it relates to or how it's worked out, so listens still none the wiser. The presenter said they always get listeners phoned in complained ...

We live in an area which backs onto the Windermere to Oxenholme railway line. Day after day we see virtually empty trains passing backwards and forwards. Only a few trains are well used - at commuter times. We also see the vast amount of maintainence carried out - nearly every day somebody is worki...
