Hi,

First post but have been viewing the forums as a guest for sometime. I just thought some may be interested in a new symbian appilcation I came across on ukspeedtraps.co.uk it's a road angel application for your mobile phone and it's not really expensive as you'd think. I purchased it yesterday and will put some pics up when I get round to taking them of it in action. Anyway you can look at it here: xxx on the roads today it's picked up every camera and you can update as much as you like within minutes, even on the go. It's a good idea for anyone wanting to try the roadangel database for not much money and from then on maybe look at one of their dedicated products.

Same difference as it defaults to .co.uk from either address so both work.

Just a correction to the above, which I presume should actually read...

Believe it or not no, found it here: xxx registered interest and purchased it pretty simple really. I knew someone would say it, just a matter of time but I actually work for someone worse PC World and we don't sell them. Only reason I posted it was because I saw a camera detector thread and felt this is a cheap option for anyone looking for one. Oh and I have been a customer of Road Angel before which is why it took my interest.

If anyone (mods) feel different about my position then happily remove the thread altogether makes no odds to me.

You poor sod!!

Finally got round to taking some pics. They are taken while in demo mode but show you what it looks like while working. I have all the alert screen but it's the same thing but with different symbols. The school and congestion alert is the same colour as blackspot and the mobile/temporary camera and average camera alert is the same as fixed. The only different screen is mobile van which is orange, but you only get that alert when you store one yourself.

Talk about timing, I was gonna ask about camera detectors and found this and even better just seen on the website it's free till the 30th September, gotta be worth a try. I'm purchasing as I speak.

I've had a PM from rekless indicating that he works with camrah (by way of explaining the matching IPs).

Of course that doesn't explain why he turned up here and claimed to be grateful for discovering the information - without mentioning that he knew camrah.

What have you got to say for yourselves?

Well like I said in the PM we do work with each other (I'm sure CamRah will be on later when he can) and I was intentionally going to put up a post to see what people's thoughts are on camera detectors. Working in PC world we only sell navigators like TomTom and Garmin so when CamRah told me about this forum I thought I'd have a look. Like in his previous posts he found out about the mobile camera detector and did tell me so I had a look and thought I'd post on here that I'm also buying it. As far as not saying we work together I never knew we had to. I knew you'd be able to see that we are posting from the same machine by the IP as most forums do use filters and such, reason for that being only one PC online for not work stuff during breaks or quiet periods when we don't do much work. After SafeSpeed told me about the amount of **** SPAM he has to sort through it made sense why this would look as it obviously does but it was a mistake on my behalf for not thinking before posting and I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. In future I'll check before hand or just contribute to things I know about rahter than areas I don't.

Sorry again and I'll tell CamRah to post up when possible.

It is true we do work together, I told him about the application when I told him about this website but I never said to post in this section as I knew this kind of thing would happen. It wasn't meant as any kind of SPAM advertising or anything I just said either go on their site or ask about other detectors here and he obviously took it the wrong way. Sorry for any problems its caused SafeSpeed and I'll tell him to try other forums as I regularly browse this site and would be like to be taken serious and contribute to the community whereas he's a bit of a novice in this area so wouldn't have much to share, plus I don't actually think he knows what a speed camera does so it's best if he did look elsewhere.

Anyway only half hour till I finish work so not all is bad.

I'm more amused than anything else, so no problem there.

Are you guys (guy?) REALLY telling us that you have no commercial interest in the product in question? Really? Honestly?

It may be hard to believe but yes there is no comercial interest. PC World or DSGi (Dixons Stores Group International) do not sell Road Angel products so it really makes no difference how much interest there is. This is my home PC by the way so you won't be seeing this IP duplicated on these boards. I'm glad it's amused you though, at least you got something out of it

Looking at the days/timings of the posts, then I am sure that DSGi would be interested in viewing how their staff occupy their working hours.

What is probably more astonishing is that employee(s) at PC World do not comprehend that when posting on forums that an I.P. address is recorded. Which is probably as good a reason as any not to go there for any informative advice of a technical nature.

If, as denied, DSGi do actually sell this product, then surely there has been a breach of Advertising Standards. Alternatively, perhaps we have here an example of an employee pursuing commission from an outside interest during employment hours.

Spammers are normally pretty harmless and are easily identifiable. However, as I'm sure Paul will agree, they take up valuable time when you've got more important things to do. I'm not suggesting that the idiot should lose their job, after all, what comes next down the chain of profitable employment? A 'Rooster Counter' in a hen house.
