I sent an FOI request to CSCP on 18/4/06 - it was logged as received by them on 19/4/06. I was informed the 20th working day was therefore 18/5/06.

Heard nothing until today! Information released on 7/6/06 - 33rd working day together with grovelling apology

What utter hypocracy  CSCP lectures the motorist on legal compliance then disregards the law themselves - heads should roll :)

Does anyone have any views on how I should follow this up?

It sounds like they travelled below the minimum speed limit. At least a fine and three points I think

I think that you can make a complaint to the 'Information Commissioners' regarding the failure to coply withgin the mandated time limit.
If nothing else it will give 'Speedfinder-General' Callaghan something else to have to answer for in addition to the Cumbria Police 'whitewash' over his threats of prosection for libel a while ago.

You could issue them a fixed penalty notice via the media.

This approach has been endorsed by Attorney General ever since 1951. CPS Code

I find it so ironic that all of these partnerships sit on their high horses crowing about how the law is the law and if it is ever broken you'll be prosecuted to its fullest extent, yet they blatantly ignore it themselves.

I'm less surprised that Mr Callaghan failed miserably in his duty though, he always came across as a huge hypocrite, and here's (yet more) proof.
