hi.i was photographed on m11 by the "moneymaker".i was doing 61 instead 50,after a long day.it never happened to me before.but there's always a first time :) I was offered a conditional offer,but I'm holding foriegn driving licence,so i replied.I'm from EU though.i've just received court date invitation.i just would like to ask,how much is the usual fine at court appereance.there's no other reason for court then my foreign driving licence.i've read that it's upto £1000,but i suppose it's not my case.it would have been a nice xmas...thank you for your replies.viktor.

Hi Viktor, and welcome.

I'm not sure if it is always the case but my Dutch friend (with Dutch driving licence) recieved the same £60 fine as he would have had with a fixed penalty.

Drivers with foreign licences will get the ame offer the only difference is that the courts cant physically put points on a foreign licence, you just get created at the DVLA and if you apply for or exchange your licence to a UK one then the penalty points will be endorsed on that if it is within the 3 yrs for the point to remain on your licence. If you make a court appearance and get found guilty then you run the risk of a heavier fine with an increase in points.

How long did it take for the court order letter to get to you after you replied to the conditional offer?
