Yahoo. It would probably let me store them if I wanted to, but its rare I use it these days. I normally use my work e-mail which just uses Outlook.

Yahoo definately let you save your sent items, but it is disabled by default.

To enable saved Sent items, go in to the folder which is called "Sent Items", and click on the link at the top of the page labelled "Turn Save Sent Items On"

Sixy,
Regarding your original post, this is a daft idea. To be more scientific, let's do what the Health & Safety Executive would do in an industrial manufacturing or other business environment and do a Risk Assessment. On the pro side we have the saving of a few Watts of National Grid power, on the anti side we have 1) everything that's bad about speed humps, which is a lot 2) a slippery artificial uneven surface that's only there to save the local authority a little money 3) a huge maintenance bill in the long term 4) disruption to traffic flow (and all the associated hazards) during installation and maintenance activies 5) potential litigation costs against the Highways Agency and local councils for the inevitable attributable accidents... I could go on all day but what's the point?
If local government wants to rob moving vehicle energy just to power street furniture, why not put in big induction loops under the road surface that convert the vehicle's movement into EMF without altering the road surface at all? The larger the vehicle and the higher the speed, the larger the power taken - the driver would experience some small retardation while passing the point. Bikes would experience very little. But even this less invasive technique would probably prove indefensible after a proper risk assessment was done. The real power savings are weak in the rankings compared to TVs left on standby, computers and monitors also, wasted heat through poor insulation, power useage of wired and wireless telecoms (including TrafficMaster et al), the new digital TV system, ad infinitum.
Less scientifically, it's utter cobblers.

As I said at the beginning of the thread, I got the original link from a bikers forum I'm a member of. One of the other members actually got a responce from Mr. Hughes on the subject of m/c safety...

Quote:
Thank you for your email concerning the power ramp. The ramp demonstrated is for use in very low speed locations for example entrance and exits to car parks, shopping malls and similar applications. In any event its movement is far less than demonstrated. The entire Ramp is covered by an elastomeric membrane that has a built in anti-skid surface.

The Ramp is also hermetically sealed to prevent the ingress of extraneous matter. The ramp proposed for use in the highway only moves a fraction of the amount seen in the film and will be completely safe for all vehicular traffic, including motor-cycles. I will be pleased to send you further information, early in the New Year, but having been a motor-cyclist myself for many years and a cyclist I am fully alive to all the potential problems and I would not propose any device that would endanger these groups.

That sounds better and makes a bit more sense.

Current Affairs - Catching electricity thieves

But the prize for most innovative power theft scheme [my emphasis] must go to an American with a high-voltage line close to his house. He wound half a mile of copper cable around his garage, creating a giant induction coil capable of powering most of his home appliances.

I would have thought that their investigative methods constituted entrapment under UK law, ie what they are doing is every bit as illegal as the people they are out to catch!

Simply (and literally) brilliant!
