The man's gone weird - posting all sorts of anti-road pro speed camera stuff. What's happened?

see http://www.network54.com/Forum/96157

He also seems to be posting bogus messages claiming to come from "Paul Smith" :(

He gives the impression of being somewhat deranged - certainly the concept of open and polite debate is totally alien to him.

IMV his exclusion from this forum was a case of good riddance.

IIRC this occured about six months ago.

It is true that I banned him. I tried really hard to get him to accept community norms - we try to keep the standard of discussion high and the tone reasonably polite. I sent him various messages asking him to take it easy, but sadly he didn't respond positively. I ran out of alternatives and reluctantly banned him.

I followed the link you provided but I didn't find: "all sorts of anti-road pro speed camera stuff".

Now there is a strange comment on the bottom of the page,

I wonder who you really are, Georgeda?

I certainly know dozens of your aliases from my forum.

Especially variations of bogush.

And, of course, "Paul Smith"

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Strange that "certain" of my detractors are fond of using the term bogus in reference to myself.

Under various of their aliases.

And where have I posted any messages, bogus or otherwise, purporting to come from Paul Smith?

PeterE wrote:

Well, thank you for that helpful example of how the concept of open and polite debate is put into practice on this forum, Peter, dahling.

PeterE wrote:

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Wasn't you who made the three complaints, perchance?

In fact, you weren't my dear old friend "Helen" were you?

In fact, now you mention it, she seemed to have a bee in her bonnet about me being deranged too.

Just like you!

And didn't you object to me being included in Roadweb (something to do with me lowering the tone, or some such?).

And isn't it a strange co-incidence that you should have jumped straight into this thread and answered "Georgeda"?

If I were a cynic I'd start getting all conspiracy theorist at this point.

Ever wondered why I don't like the sCamera Partnerships and the Speed Kills spin?

It's because I hate liars.

I hate control freaks.

And I hate hypocrites even more.

Many's the time I read one of your posts, especially to the sCamera Man you wanted me to go easy on, and was astounded and shocked by your rudeness. I would never have dreamed of posting some of the posts you have posted.

And I've seen far worse posts than yours.

But perhaps the posters have paid for the privilege of being rude on your "classy" forum.

I note that two of "Helen's" three posts are still up on your board.

Oh, and Peter E's up above seems to fall within your guidelines for community norms of high standards of discussion reasonably polite tone.

So that tells us exactly what standards you have:

None whatsoever.

As I recall (for obvious reasons I'm not in a position to check) you asked me to consider going easy to avoid scaring off a particular individual.

And when, not having even seen the pm, I made some posts (none to that individual as far as I can recall), you started deleting my posts.

No doubt for having the audacity not to have banned myself for having been such a naughty boy as to not have gone the extra mile and picked up your pm by telepathy and then stopped posting entirely.

And then when I queried the post deletion in pm and then post (as they had all been ignored) you banned me for, it would appear, not submitting to your control-freakery.

Did you ever, as I requested, publish the pm and deleted post exchanges so that the world could judge?

No?

Now why doesn't that surprise me?

Strange, but if you had followed the link you would have found "all sorts of anti-road pro speed camera stuff".

Just not posted by me.

Apologies (see how polite I am, and how I always acknowledge when I am in the wrong!).

This has to be some kind of joke post, yes?

A spoof of some kind?

Irony?!

Deranged - polite debate!

Hahahahahaha!

Open debate - his exclusion from this forum was a case of good riddance!

Classic!

How remiss of me (there I go again).

And I hate censorship and book burning.

Apt logo then!

How clever of you to spot it then.

Doh!

I suppose I'm gonna get banned again.

For making yet another "confrontational and acidic" post.

Hey, guess what:

Here on planet earth we call that stating the bleedin' obvious.

Just like in my previous post!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

So that moderator (who also banned me).

That decided I rubbed up people the wrong way.

Because I held up a mirror to them.

And they didn't like what they saw.

Might have been right all along.

The truth hurts!

As long as Bogush is supporting the anti-camera cause the pro-camera, pro-taxation mob are laughing all the way to the bank.

He just causes bad feeling and divides everyone.

You should see his site and the work he does on the BBC Nottingham discussion group. If it wasn't so serious it'd be laughable.

Ad hominem attacks are banned on these forums.

Accordingly this is your first and final warning.

I also believe that you are here to promote conflict and I shall be watching any further posts very closely.

Good Evening Georgeda, if you're out there readingt this.

As ever, I'm always here to lend a helping hand, whenever you need it.

If you don't understand the term ad hominem attacks, it's posting stuff like, errrmmm, what can I use as an example?

Oh, I know:

Stuff like this:

PeterE wrote:

And people wonder how I've become brainwashed into thinking I'm always right.

All the best until we meet again, Georgeda.

I shall be looking forward to the occasion.

I do so enjoy our little electronic chats.

Umm, it's not an ad hominem attack if it is referring to someone who is not a forum member. Otherwise a lot of people who have made disparaging comments about Brunstrom would have been banned.

That's absolutely true Peter and you make a good point. So please Paul why have you given me a final warning when I was referring to someone who is not a member - the same Bogush being referred to by our mutual friend Peter? :?

Duh?

Where did you find that definition then?

PeterE wrote:

Double Duh?

Yet another logical fallacy.

I suppose the fact that Georgeda got a warning proves that bogush hasn't been banned after all?

What an interesting forum this is.

Chemically enhanced perhaps?
