It seems that Chief Constable Todd is following some fine examples set by Della Cannings and Paul Garvin insofar as he does not wish to hide behind a desk.

Per tonight's"Manchester" paper it seems that CC Todd is getting out and about with his remaining traffic police and vehicle crime patrols - and arrested one of three men involved in a burglary.

That's more like it. Perhaps he might even rethink his scam strategy

CC Todd (of Greater Manchester Police) has gone on record as not being a great enthusiast for cameras - but he inherited a scamera partnership and a lot of existing cameras, and it's not solely up to him whether and where new cameras are installed.

TBH I think this is what we will see more off in the future. I had hoped (very niaevely) that there would be a a big "Oh no we were wrong and SS and ABD and drivers were right, we are sorry - sack all the scammers" moment and we could all pop open the bubbly and party.

Obviously no Govt' is going to lose that amount of face, so we will see the installation of new CC's who can influence policy and slowly over time the cameras will reducTBH I think this is what we will see more off in the future. Shame really I was looking forward to rubbing some faces in it!

I still think we will. As the evidence and the resentment grows and grows, sooner or later it will be more painful to sustain the policy than it would be to pull the plug. It's a certainty. It's only a matter of time.
