Looks like we are in minority .... with clean licence since day it was issued.

In 2003 - 29% of us had been victim to the scammerati. Now - a whopping 42%. In fact - my age group (and suspect lot here are in this one ?) - aged 41-50 .... a massive 48% have three points on licences...

Whatever happened to sedate middle age?

Our Mark McArthur-Christie (ABD-er) told the "Mail" that this does rather point to scams being revenue raisers and mot life savers.

According to the article - 6000 scams ping 30 million drivers - and police expect this to double.

Only if you are actively seeking to ping people. basically they are saying that these are failing - failing in their objective to change driver behaviour to speed limit compliance...

MMC warns again that the scams do not catch the untaxed and uninsured drivers - who do not register their cars either.

This survey is annual - commissioned by the Bank of Scotland Vehicle Finance.. It says that 27% of all drivers have three points, 12% have four to six points, 2% have seven to nine points and one % are above ten points.

Under tot-up - those will 12 points lose licence and livelihoods - and easy to do on a day trip to Blackpool.

The reports covers 1600 company car drivers and blames the speed cam explosion for this. It also cites the pressure of modern life - stressed workers are rushing to meet deadlines as they average 17,500 miles of business driving (up 30% on last year)

Survey discloses that the survey shows huge support for 80 mph motorway speed limit. Over 90% of those surveyed in favour Both AA and RAC and the - err - Tory Party are in favour of this. (Hopelfully there are some covert petrolheads amongst the lentilists the lentilists re-elected.... and it becomes reality.. )

The survey says that 60% of thsoe surveyed break the 70 mph limit to make business meetings.

It s-s says wimmin are more likely to sp-speed on the motoraways. 63% of wimmin in this survey compared to 61% of the men claimed to ignore 70 mph speeds

No - Wildy did not take part in this survey - she averages 68-77 mph on any one UK motorway drive - and a lot faster in Germany

But the survey concludes that none of us are speed freaks. 99% believe 30 mph should be observed iin built up areas - and even lower in really vulberable areas.

Er - what we've all been saying all the time really....

started on a bicycle, to a moped, to a 200cc moterbike ,to a 850 moterbike,to a three wheeler, to a car, since then vans and lorries,

this last 5 days i have counted the number of cars, vans, pedesrians seen in a 9 mile drive to work,

Ray Massey is a pillock, always has a bee in his bonnet about speed cameras, points on licence, harrassment of British drivers.

99.9% of good drivers do NOT have points on licences.

The morons who do have points by the dozen deserve them.

Only 0.1% of driving instructors, driving examiners, traffic cops, and other honest, decent citizens, have a couple of points.

The transport minister has them - and was one ping from a ban.

Bet umpteen other MPs have been done too - and know lots of nurses and teachers who have three or more points - just because they live in LanCASH£re and saved 3 points on the course - but the other three on SAME run in Blackpool, Chorley and Blackburn did not help them.....and there are more...

Where did that statistic come from.....looks like one you made up on the spot... :

BTW you get 3 points for speeding not 2, but then being a driving instructor you would know that..

There are numerous Chief Constables, Assistant Chief Constables, Polititians Magistrates etc that have points. Are you saying these are not honest citizens...? shame on you

Even if that were true, that makes several tens of thousands of driving instructors, driving examiners, traffic cops, and other honest, decent citizens with points on their licences.

As you're so clued up with the statistics, can you tell us what percentage of accident-involved drivers have points on their licences?
And what percentage of drivers with points on their licences are involved in accidents?

Facts:
I have been driving for more than 47 years.
I have an extremely good long term safety record.
I totally disregard the NSL.
I have never had any points on my licence.

You claim to be a driving instructor? What's your ADI number? I've been a DfT ADI since 1980. I'll look you up on the register and confirm you are who you claim to be.

Incidentally, most of the ADIs I know (about 40 or so people) have between 3 and 9 points. I don't know any ADI, or examiner, who has no points. You're talking bollocks.
