Just watched this interesting episode of the ITV Tonight series about whether emergency services drivers were being deterred from breaking normal traffic laws in emergency situations because of an increased risk of prosecution:
http://www.itv.com/news/2012-11-01/too-scared-to-speed/Quite a reasonable, balanced programme, although predictably Ellen Booth of BRAKE reckoned more drivers needed to be prosecuted and some prof from Wolverhampton University questioned whether any police pursuits were justified
I wonder whether Ms Booth would change her tune if it was her house that was burning down, or her child that was choking to death.
