Paul,

I seen a brief snippet in the Record 09/12 about some road accidents in the Highland area, 1 or 2 killed I think, have you any further info of what happened?

Andrew

Sorry, I don't know anything about this one. We get local TV news reports about road crashes from time to time, but they almost never go into any details about how the crash happened. This time I haven't even seen the news report...

Paul,

I must be going mad  I am 100% sure I read a story of a few crashes happening in the Highlands area but I found this from the Daily Record, which is quite interesting because if you note the locations of these accidents then i'm sure they are very close to camera locations.

Andy - i visited my old part of the Highlands (the true west of scotland) last year and found no cameras - waiting to see how many accidents are caused BY CAMERAS ( if they put them up) on the A82 Crainlarich to Balachullish/Fort William road - no road for amatures but a fast road if you know it and are watching for natural hazards (SHEEP/DEER/TOURISTS( foreign/ southern), dont forget caravans)
In summer "TOORESTS " form the major hazard. In winter the lack of road treatment causes problems, yet i remember tha for years in the heart of the highlands we skated merrily on snow/ice etc. THEN Dept of Transport DECREED that a Snowplough would be sent. It lasted about 30 miles and slid off the road -- and caused traffic chaos

We drove on (sanding the road for each other) and raised two fingers to the plough.
We didn't see another for years.
AND thats Hghland Driving

Botach,

lets hope they never get round to spoiling the A82 with cameras, it's about the only place you can go now without congestion, reminders of the police state and the relentless pursuit (Apt word) of cash...I mean speeders :D !

Regards

Andrew
