You mean plants which are turned into food for human consumption?
As it is, much of the world's populations are struggling to get enough to eat so are dying from malnutrition. All basic foodstuffs need CO2. The less the CO2, less scope there is for food.
Those who don tin foil hats could claim this could be a deliberate method for controlling the global population ...
