I wonder how many cyclists do what I've started to do when riding on our busy roads? It's obvious that I've deleayed someone in a vehicle whjo waiits patiently behind me until it's clear for them to overtake . The I give them a small wave of thnaks for their paitence and consideration when they do pul out and pass.

I appreciate this may be a bit controversialm being seen by some cyclists as conceding our right to use the road as equals.

However, I like to think it is more likely to increase goodwill and encourage drivers to show the same consideration for cyclists in future.

I've noticed motorcyclists indicating their thanks along the same lines when I've been driving and I know it makes me more inlcined to do the same again
