Where do the government get the statistic of safety cameras saving 100 lives per year in the uk?

The claim is usually ~50% decrease in KSI at camera sites.
There are about 6000 cameras.
Assuming 4 KSI in 3 years at each site- call it 1 KSI a year before camera installation.
That is about 6000 Ksi.
Therefore 6000 drops to 3000 after cameras.
Dft statistics show ~ 1 killed to 10 SI (Dft stats.)
Therefore 3000 / 10 equals 300 deaths saved. Not 100.

Have I got something wrong?

The figure seems to account somewhat for RTTM. It won’t of course account for effects of 'bias on selection'.
