There appears to have been a lot of new signage installed on some of my regular routes around Lancashire and Merseyside in the last couple of weeks; anyone else noticed the same?

Even the 25mph Liverpool Dock estate has been re-signed in a 'legal' style; are mobile devices rated for use at 25mph?

It certainly appears that there is a general gearing up for a fresh onslaught and it seems that locations near existing fixed cameras are becoming a favourite.

Since when has anyone used 25 mph lollies? Aren't they all in 10 mph increments except 5 mph zones in supermarket carparks?

I didn't think there were any official limits not multiples of 10 either. Speed limits such as 15, 25, 35, etc. are common in the U.S., but not here.

If you mean Princes Dock (by IOM ferry), that would be the same road that has signs saying 'Private Road, No parking, Clamping in operation'

Unless it's in the Docks byelaws that limit is unenforceable, AIUI Peel Holdings are the landowners.

The only TSRGD compliant signs are 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70, if I understood Richard Bentley correctly.

As you enter the freeport you are on Mersey Docks and Harbour Company land and there is a sign (appears to have been freshened up lately) that advises that the limit is 25mph and thereafter quotes the appropriate bylaw.

As there appeared to be quite a few new signs, including speed enforcement ones for the first time, i was wondering if they were intending to try and start prosecuting offences and then went on to wonder about their equipments rating as well as vehicle speedo accuracy below 30mph

As anyone been prosecuted for an offence commited in a 20/25mph zone?

I am there again tomorrow and will ask the port police if there is any new initiative or anything else interesting to report
