Pointing out these security flaws in a public forum may not be the wisest thing you've done Scanny.

If he has noticed them without any inside information then no doubt others have as well. If they have not then I am not sure this is one of their ports of call in the internet search for likely targets!
Certainly 'loose lips sink ships' if you have specialist information on a potential target, but if you do not, and any security shortcomings are still obvious, then I would indeed suggest highlighting them to the authorities.
Rest assured that there are very skilled and experienced people assessing the risks to the UK every day on our behalf. They have had well over 40 years of experience in assymetric warfare on our shores after all!
I would suggest, however, that you need not lose too much sleep scanny. One might note that all the recent attacks have been on civilians in high density, and the methods have been unsophisticated at best. The transport network is, by necessity, easily accessible to pretty much everyone, and as such will always pose a relatively soft target for terrorists. Infrastructure such as oil plants and power stations are not only proportionately harder to access, they are much much harder to cause to catastrophically fail in a way that will result in any large scale loss of life, and no one site is vital to the day to day running of the UK. Basically they are not worthwhile targets for the level of terrorist we see operating in the UK at the moment.
Also bear in mind that Faslane is a different kettle of fish; it houses a number of military personel and their equipment, but even more sensitive is the classified information likely to be located there. These sorts of targets have the potential to attract an altogether different type of intruder.
