ponts to note:
40MPH B road (B7030, newbridge) through an industrial estate at 5pm. the road is constantly slippery for reasons unknown to me and the police decided that this was not a hazard even though i spent an hour at this location trying to slow traffic down and alerting them to this trailer during which time i observed many near misses

Difficult to comment beyond what you have said. The trailer is a obvious hazard, the road looks to be in poor condition. Also given the vehicle park to the left, I'm surprised that pedestrians haven't got anywhere to walk!

Am appalled at the response from the police, looks like he is parked on a bend with no lights, too right a hazard.

so am i. i would like the officers in question to be spoken to but off the record. we all make mistakes which is why i wont make an official complaint however, that kind of judgement should not have been made. it is a bend and there were no warnings. i came along at 40 in my artic and almost went into it as did many others (i spent an hour warning them while i waited for the coppers who had already been) and witnessed quite a few near misses. there is a very sharp bend at the other side of the trailer which has its own obvious dangers.

i did get hold of the driver though. his excuse was that he didnt know the area

there are several industrial areas leading off this road and he could have parked in any of them without even needing to turn around. this idiot decided that he would leave it there instead. drivers like that shouldnt be driving HGVs :x

Me, I would have made an official complaint, if the officers cannot understand the hazard that this vehicle presents, some further training would be in order.
