What about the option "Keep at 60 and then think if you've got any elderly relatives that have given up driving".

Of course I hope nobody is thinking I'm suggesting you should ask them to take the points! I'm mearly saying you should think about your elderly relatives every now and again and maybe pop round. Take some flowers, they will enjoy your visit.

From a safety perspective, surely it would be better to REDUCE the concentration requirement for driving, thereby increasing the margin for concentration loss due to unavoidable everyday distractions (Navigation, tiredness, "things on your mind" etc etc).
The danger with reducing the concentration requirement is that numpties will concentrate even less  but of course I know that's not what you're saying. It's more about getting the object of concentration where it needs to be - on the road. Perhaps we should be talking about maintaining adequate concentratoin by removing unnecessary distractions? Most Gatsos and talivans would qualify, I think, but in fairness they're not the only things that can drag a driver's concentration off the task at hand.

I opted for the brake sharply to 40 - but I'm afraid this is not quite right.

If there were street lamps, you would have to drop to 30 to be sure.

Without, you would be OK at your current speed.

Either way, they'd probably have already nabbed you, so there'd probably be no point doing anything, but perhaps you might get some satisfaction out of seeing the film of someone ploughing into the back of you, and telling them in court that it was the camera operator's fault, and how exactly did they think they were contributing to road safety? That is, if you're still alive at that point.

I'd brake so hard my feet would be through the floor.

What else can you do?

Speeding is an absolute offence.

I've just posted my 6 coupon that takes me to 6 points.

2 years before I'm back down to 3.

40k miles per year.

I'm basically f*cked!

I'd forgotten about this poll. I actually believe I would preempt and obfuscate the plates if I was on nine points. No, not proud of that, and fortunately not even close to the dilemma point. Nil points moi ;-)
