Personaly I find vandalism of any kind Abhorrent but in the case of trashed speed cameras I get a feeling that justice has served.

What to you think?

Well, I voted for "turn a blind eye", although in reality that's only because reporting to the police immediately isn't really an option. After all, I'll almost certainly be in my car, and using a mobile phone is a big no-no and very much frowned upon even with a car kit. So in the interests of my personal safety and that of other road users around me I would actually report it to the police............... eventually.

I haven't voted.
It all depends on the location of the Scamera, if it is in an obvious money collection zone, I would turn a blind eye, in fact I would turn two blind eyes.
However, if it was in an obvious Safety Camera zone, such as the one outside my kids school, I would report it with little delay.
I find it incredulous that you see so few cameras outside schools.

The placement rules effectively require cameras to be placed at the locations where exceeding the limit is least dangerous, and therefore most common.

If you take a typical 30 mph main road where the safe speed may vary between low 20s and high 30s, the camera will be on the stretch where, in clear conditions, 35 or so is safe.

If I had the guts I would be the one destroying the damn things so I would NOT turn a blind eye, I would stop and congratulate them :D :D

:gatso1: :gatso2: :gatso3: I would turn a blind eye because I reckon that if I did report it, I would be infringing the privacy and Human Rights of the vandals. The police may show my name & address to the vandals and it wouldn't be right to see so much police time diverted to catching the vandals instead of solving more serious crimes.

Don't blame me, blame all the PC do-gooders!

Given the large number of cameras which have been vandalised/destroyed, it seems that a fair number of these acts must've been witnessed by others.
Yet I've never heard of anybody reporting these incidents.
I wonder why?
They probably stop and say, "Have you got enough petrol, Mate, I've got a spare can in the boot".

Cheers
Peter

I would be out of the car like a flash, put on my balaclava and help out.
