Sorry it's too much - given in to temptation here!

Terribly sorry old chap; don't understand the banter. Might someone provide English subtitles of mad's post, please?
Actually, don't bother.
Well- proves to me that the mad lad's way above you when God set about dishing out brains.

So, where are you all going to be protesting next, by demonstrating how easy it is to stick within speed limits when you care to?
Hoots.
Well - they don't need to mither my mob... .
Super drivers around here anyway and they all drive safely too - and they all love us so much that even the RAC wants more of us per Radio 4 today!
So - the protesters have my support for wishing to bring back common sense and demanding proper traffic patrols. But M25, M6 (the odd bits which actually move - and this proves speed is not cause of accidents - that road is always having prangs in standing traffic
) - M1 - M62 - M56 - A55
- that dual carriageway where the scams are and where it is "safe speed"
Well - might as well make them Arrived Deprived
Seriously...
Those accidents on motorways are caused by tailgating, hogging, poor lane change, poor lane discipline, inadequate morror use.
We
do make use of speed guns up here on some of our nastier roads. Our cam van is advertised and we are very visible and ensure this. We also allow a very fair margin as well - and any tug gets some straight honest talking and advice - as it is not about fining people - it's about ensuring future safety. If they do not know why we thought it dangerous enough to pull - they will not learn from the experience - and yes - there is - cough - discretion.
But we use this on urban and residential roads - etc - which we identified as needing this kind of enforcement. We don't hide them and we are very, very fair towards our drivers. They appreciate this and, unlike some other areas, we appear to have their respect.
However, we use unmarked and marked on the faster roads. If we relied on the mobile unit - we would would only be able to measure the speed and not the actual drive.
We cop mobile phone users, fog lamp numpties, poor lane discipliners and the blatantly dangerous. We even manage to catch the odd real criminal as well!
by being on the road and looking and policing it
If we relied on a cam on a bridge - it would be just the speed and not the standard. I have seen people drive at or just under the speed limit and still placed others in danger by poor lane discipline and bad use of mirrors - which is correctable by a nice polite word - and nothing more sinister.
Some years ago I once pulled a car on motorway travelling at 67 mph. According to the speed gun - he'd be safe. Car was weavering a bit and routine pull revealed a defect.
Now do you see why these guys do have a point in protesting and campaigning for more of me.
Age of the dynosaur was actually more efficient at hunting weak drivers!
So let's have more of
( I love this emoticon!! Just have to use it.! ) and more of
and definitely LESS of
And keep ort speed limits to
on our nicest roads!
And I wanted to use a few more of the emoticons I have not used yet!
