Saw this posted in the MX-5 Owners Club today. I'm a member of the club and I'd say quite a few members support the M4 Protest however someone took it upon themselves to start an anti M4 protest thread today

Aran on mx5ocforum.co.uk wrote:
Well I have just seen the website about prostesting against speed cameras and the proposed drive down the M4 at a Quote "Slow speed"

Personally I think it's irresponsible and will probably cause more accidents than the speed cameras they are protesting about...
The speed limit is the law it's 70mph, if you don't break the law then you wont get 3 points and £60 fine it's easy really

I thought I'd post a link in case anyone needed proof that fiction that is the Scamera Pratnership propaganda is still being believed out there, even amongst car enthusiasts

Never try to teach a pig to sing.
It wastes your time, and it annoys the pig! :hehe:

But seriously, you should see this as a great opportunity. Spending an hour or two systematically destroying their arguments offers more than just the satisfaction of making them look idiots, it also gives you a golden opportunity to run the whole argument past the rest of the forum membership. If you start out with a few good witty put-downs everyone will start following the topic like a soap opera, which makes it a great PR opportunity.

Manage it properly and someone's anti-protest rant becomes a means of bringing a few hundred more into the fold.

Go and pour yourself a drink, then have a look at this worked example... (running at 4,000+ views so far).

This policy highlights how oversimplified, ineffective-and dangerously misleading-the camera policy really is, and it is also proof that many have been brainwashed by the message and are unable to think for themselves.

Andrew
