My friend's just had an operation and I was going to go and look after her this weekend. I now can't visit her because of your petty and selfish little protest.

She'll just have to look after herself somehow. I'm sure she'll she be really comforted by the fact that you're doing such a noble deed for the good of everyone - well about 0.05 of the population that are like you and have nothing better to do with their lives than throw tantrums and seek attention.

You are selfish, narrow minded children. If you want to protest - write a letter. If you really want something to do on Saturday that would benefit lots of people why don't you go out and raise some money for charity.

You all disgust me.

Hey fidgetarse
I can't wait to read all the posts shooting you down in flames!! Who's the one throwing the tantrum and behaving childishly? Look in the mirror mate!

Why don't you take some time out to see what the protest is all about before you shoot from the lip!

Boy are you going to wish you hadn't written that!

Have a great weekend.

Would you care to elaborate on exactly how a 1 hour long protest using part of each side of the motorway is preventing you from visiting your friend?

OOH you're hard

because that's what everyone's going to be doing mr I'm-so-bleedin'-clever. You're pathetic little parade is going to cause disruption over the entire weekend. People will probably panic and start leaving tonight.

Hey, why don't you not bother getting up at all. No sorry, it's probably the highlight of your year isn't it. You sad little moron.

Fidget, I suspect you of being a troll and under such circumstances normally wouldn't waste my time replying.

However, it occurs to me that someone without the wit to actually read what this is all about before spouting off might express an opinion similar to yours so for their benefit here goes...........

The protest is about improving road safety. The propaganda spread by the safety partnerships and their allies has been shown many times to be deeply flawed. I am not about to repeat the arguments and facts put forward previously as the founders of this site and organisers of the protest can do that far more eloquently than I.

Like the man said, why not just leave earlier?

(Reading your subsequent posts, submitted while I was typing, confirm that you are indeed trolling).

People, please don't feed the troll.

56mph is a lot faster than most of the traffic will be doing on the M1 right now!! Cant see how this protest will stop people doing anything. Surely if 56mph isn't fast enough for some people they can use an alternative route?

Yeah, look on the bright side FB, getting slowed by this protest might even save you getting a speeding ticket! :hehe:

yes blah blah blah

If it's going to have such little impact on the traffic, I wonder why you are going to do it on a bank holiday weekend on a Saturday when people are going to set off for a well earned weekend break. If it's going to have such little impact I wonder why you're bothering at all. Surely you want to make an impact to get a little attention.

And yes I have read what it's all about and I still don't agree with it. If you don't go over the speed limit you have nothing to fear. If you do worry about people that go over the speed limit and break suddenly - go in a slower lane. It's not hard.

I'm so sorry not to agree with your higher wisdom. But we're not all intimidated by your bullyish behaviour.

By making this statement you have just proved beyond doubt that you have read very little if anything about this protest. Either read it and be constructive in your criticism or stop trolling.

If you say you've read about it and you still don't agree then clearly our higher wisdom is way above you.

If you're happy to follow the nanny state and bleat all the way down the road, fine. I'll not confuse your already taxed intellect with the bell curve showing stress arousal and such things. That might be construed as bullying.

(Bugger!! I just fed the troll).

Lahlahlahlahlahlah I am not listening to the troll any more :P

Oh come off it, who is intimidating or bullying who...or was that just rhetoric.

And BTW, before you question other peoples' higher wisdom perhaps you'd better test your own first, its brake not break.

We demand the immediate suspension of all speed cameras on open
motorways because we do not believe that they improve safety.

You do not believe?

Until you have proven facts and figures, it doesn't matter whether you believe or not. Certainly supsending them will not improve safety! Will just allow people to speed to their hearts content and not be penalised. Everyone knows speed kills and cameras may not be the solution but I know they certainly make me think when I am driving to drop my speed.

You have read nothing then.

I worry about the increase in drunk and drugged drivers on our roads
I worry about the increase in unlicensed and uninsured drivers on our roads
I worry about the general decline in driving standards
I worry about an increasing fatality rate on our roads
I worry that all the above a reflection of a decrease of traffic police on our roads
I worry about having a government policy that is founded on un-corroborated research which is responsible for all of the above

I have plenty to worry about, thank you. If you actually took the time to understand the argument against the speedcamera policy you'd be worried as well, and more than likely out there with us.

Of course you could have worries of your own

You could be worried that we'll have a good turnout
You could be worried that the camera partnerships will be disbanded
you could be worried that you will lose your livelyhood, because your posts indicate a close relationship with the scam and your wages

If you genuinely need to get to Bristol leave early you'll just have to worry about the mini's. If that was BS well shame on you

I agree no policy without proven facts, so thats the end of speed cameras then

Look we do not want everyone to be able to speed, howvere the governments own stats prove beyond doubt that speeding id the cause of only between 3 and 5% of fatalities, what we want is a policy which will adrees 100% of the causes of accidents, and speed cameras are noty it. We want more traffic police on the road, not highways agency patrols policemen in marked and unmarked cars who can target dangerous driving in all its forms and yes that inclused speeding.

Then why does every single one of your demands mention the words speed camera? Reading your arguments, or the way you have set it out, it boils down to you objecting to these objects full stop. You cannot honestly say that they do not help with the speeding issue, and I agree that speeding is not the biggest cause of fatalities, but sure if they save even one or two lives, they are worth keeping.

...and wait a moment. My original argument was not that there's a problem with the roads. I agree, there is a problem with the roads and there's huge problem with maniac drivers, I'm absolutely all for an idea that makes the road a safer place, really I am.

My argument was, and is, your way of protesting. The cause is not my argument, your way of protesting is. There are better ways to protest than this. Your go-slow campaign is going to infuriate other drivers on the road, this will then cause rash decisions and ultimately cause some dangerous driving. You're just adding to the problem.

Firstly, that's an assumption. Wasn't it you that said earlier on we weren't presenting facts?

Secondly. An effective, properly funded police force would be on the roads to prevent this sort of behaviour. Which is what we're asking for.

You're not very good at this trolling lark, are you?

oh grow up you idiot

I am assuming yes, based on what I see everyday on the roads.

The traffic police won't be everywhere at all times will they you lunatic - there's always going to be unmanned sections which will have people driving dangerously.

And yes you're right I'm not good at this arguing on forum lark. You lot however seem to be experts. Do it often do you?
