A colleague has recieved two NIPs in recent months. Buth times she sent off her details and both times they sent a letter back saying they were not taking any action.....why?.....because she has a French driving license.

It seams that the fixed penalty fine system cannot work with overseas driving licenses. It could go through the courts by they don't bother (no money to be made)

I hear that Europe is trying to close the loophole but what about the asylum seakers. Could be a way for them to earn a few bob....

I find it interesting that should you get done in france on a UK licence, not only do you get a fine over there, but you can have points put on over here.
I was also told by a plod, when I was pulling a Danish registered trailer, that should I get gatso'd, then the photo will be torn up a thrown in the bin.
Isn't that discrimination?

My brothers misses was gatso'ed in germany i think. Think it was when entering a town, they dont actaully post speed limits, the fact there's a town sign implies the limit. She never received anything through the post,

Not so - there is no way that points can be applied for offences in France. No offence has been committed under UK law. I hear that the police try it on to get you to pay fines levied in New Zealand and France but you can simply tell them to push off.
