http://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/safer-rider

It is a site from Thames Valley police aimed at increasing rider safety.

Compare and contrast this to some of the offerings from Brunstromania etc.

IMO it gets the balance about right, it covers hazards, gives car drivers info about bikes and from a riders perspective points to places where people get it wrong and why.

Speed limits get a mention, but aren't lectured about. There is none of the "the human body can't travel at such speeds" that I see on other similar sites.

What do you think?

Thames Valley may well be "waking up".

I'm invited to a road safety conference hosted by Thames Valley Police on 17th June.

They are either:

a) In a panic
b) seeking true enlightenment or
c) hoping to get some justification for their gut feelings about present policy.

I reckon c). That's promising.
