Hi there,

Was pulled over by the police for speeding and given a £60 fine. I need to take my licence to the station within 7 days, but I can't find it. I've been looking for it for ages, so I'm not too confident about finding it in time.

Willl a new licence come in time if I apply for one now? If not is there anything I can do if I can't fine mine? What would happen if I don't take it in?

I think whether you find your licence or not, you must go to the police station and explain, if you don't, they will only come looking for you.
The plastic bit of my licence lives in my wallet, the paper bit lives in my tacho folder.
HGV drivers have to carry their licence, car drivers don't.

The 7 day rule is not set in stone.

If you are certain you won't find it then go to the police station and tell them. Take what documents you do have, and some other ID might be a good idea.

And get a replacement applied for ASAP.

If you can't find your licence but have your driver number and some other form of Id then present them with that and say you are applying for a new licence.

As long as you are licensed you will probably escape (further) prosecution.
