Can't make up my mind if this is good or bad.
Locally I'm hearing that Warks are now using camera vans in a double whammy over the xmas period.
Good, as anything over the limit, allows the attached police officer to have reason to breath test the driver. BUT, Police have the powers to set up check points, with no reason, so why use camera vans. Unless it's to try to prove that camera vans promote safety(which we all know they do not)
Bad as in the vans are now being positioned to be almost concealed and with rigid enforcement ,it looks like another excuse to get bums on seats at the retired traffic road show (AKA SAC), who's beneficiaries are mostly retired /redundant traffic police.

The old adage of good to have cops on the road and bad if they are purely focused on one purpose. However lets hope the reality proves more sensible and they make proportionate and fair tugs. Being hidden ought never be their aim, do you know if they were ?
